EXECUTIVE COMITEE


Jacques Laliberté, president
Jacques Laliberté has served as chair of the AQDC Board of Directors since its founding in 2004. He had a long career as a manager for a multinational oil company, working in positions ranging from managing director of subsidiaries to strategic planning consultant, as well as in sales and marketing.
             

       

Dre Aline Boulanger,
vice-president
  Dr. Aline Boulanger serves as the other vice president on the Executive Committee. She received her medical training in Quebec City, did her internship in anesthesia in Montreal and did a fellowship in chronic pain treatment in Boston. She holds a master's in public health from Harvard University. Dr. Boulanger is director of the CHUM pain clinic as well as the pain clinic at Montreal's Sacré-Coeur hospital. Dr. Boulangeris also an associate professor at Université de Montréal.
             

       

Line Brochu,
vice-president
  Line Brochu serves as one of two vice presidents of the Executive Committee. Since age nine, she has lived with an invasive abdominal ganglioneuroma for which she takes very strong medicationand receives regular injections. "I stopped working when I was 45 and it was hard on me. In 2004 I agreed to join the AQDC Board of Directors."
             

       

Francine St-Hilaire, secretary
 

Francine St-Hilaire is secretary of the Executive Committee. Now 61, she has suffered from chronic pain for over nine years. She readily accepted when in 2007 she was asked to get involved in AQDC. "There is so much work that needs to be done to fight the stigma associated with the use of these drugs and counter the isolation of people with chronic pain and the prejudices they face."

 

             

       

Mario Côté, treasurer
 

Board member Mario Côté is associated with the Réseau DOF firm as a consultant, trainer, and speaker on management issues. "I chose to be involved with AQDC because I have witnessed the devastating impact that chronic pain can have on a person's life."

 

 

             

       

ADMINISTRATORS

             

Gaëtan Bond
  Gaétan Bond became an AQDC board member after a long career in the healthcare field. Sales and marketing, continuing professional education, and strategic planning were his core areas. He stopped working because of his pain.
             

       

Céline Charbonneau
 

Céline Charbonneau is also a board member. In addition to her regular work, she has been a union advisor and her interests span many areas. She has been an AQDC member since 2011. She is also actively involved in social and cultural issues.

 

 

 

             

       

Manon Choinière
 

Board member Manon Choinière is a researcher and university professor. A psychologist by training, she did her doctoral and post-doctoral studies in the area of pain. She also heads up ACCORD, (Application Concertée des Connaissances et Ressources en Douleur), a program that promotes research and the exchange and transfer of knowledge about pain.

             

       

Suzanne Deutsch
 

Suzanne Deutsch, a board member since 2011, is a writer and photographer, and has trained in psychosocial intervention. She is interested in resilience and ways to enhance this characteristic in chronic pain patients. She herself suffers from failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) accompanied by arachnoiditis, and lumbar radiculopathy.

             

       

Mario Di Carlo
 

Board member Mario Di Carlo is the founding president of Butterfly Wings Foundation, a lead trainer of chronic pain and disease self-care programs, and serves on the board of West Island Mission.

             

       

Simon Laliberté
 

Board member Simon Laliberté is a psychologist by training and has more than 15 years of experience working with chronic pain patients. As a psychologist/ clinician member of interdisciplinary teams, he has developed clinical and research activities to evaluate and treat chronic pain problems.
